I got bored with revising statistics based on fake data sets, and I just stumbled across this nonsense, so I thought I would approach it statistically and show you how you are mathematically wrong.
Muslim-majority countries/countries with significant Muslim populations that rank higher than the USA on the Happy Planet Index:
- Bangladesh (9.2% of global Muslim population)
- Indonesia (12.7% of global Muslim population)
- Pakistan (11% of global Muslim population)
- Algeria (2.1% of global Muslim population)
- India (10.9% of global Muslim population)
- Iraq (1.9% of global Muslim population)
- Tunisia (0.6% of global Muslim population)
- Morocco (2% of global Muslim population)
- Tajikistan (0.4% of global Muslim population)
- Turkey (4.6% of global Muslim population)
- Syria (1.3% of global Muslim population)
- Egypt (4.9% of global Muslim population)
- Libya (0.4% of global Muslim population)
- Iran (4.6% of global Muslim population)
- Yemen (1.5% of global Muslim population)
- Afghanistan (1.8% of global Muslim population)
- Lebanon (0.2% of global Muslim population)
- (I’ve accounted for 70.1% of the global Muslim population here).
Muslim-majority countries/countries with significant Muslim populations (including the ones you mention) that rank lower than the USA on the Happy Planet Index:
Countries you mention where Muslims are supposedly happy that aren’t in the top 50 happiest countries, according to the Happy Planet Index:
I took the liberty of running the inferential statistical analysis (Yay! I’m revising and calling people out of their condescending lies simultaneously!) and found there to be a significant difference in the happiness of non-Muslim majority countries and the happiness of Muslim-majority countries (p=<0.001), I.e., this is the inferential level of safety the industry need to release new pharmaceuticals to the market - pretty significant indeed. Of course, this isn’t a cause-effect phenomena, so I ran association analyses and found a correlation co-efficient of r=>+0.9, or acoefficient of determination of r2=>0.85, meaning, according to the statistical analyses, (roughly) 85% of the happiness of Muslim majority countries is tied up with the fact that they are Muslim.
It seems to be the case that a dose of Islam might actually be what these countries need!

Sometimes, ignorance is anything but bliss.
Like almost anyone on earth, I have been a victim of prejudice. Unfortunately, the prejudices against me are all from my physical appearance. Because I am a girl, I am not given every opportunity I want. Because I am small, people don’t always thing I’m strong enough to handle things. Because I “look innocent” people don’t take me seriously enough. Because I am Muslim, people think I’m violent, or a supporter of the heinous and offensive acts that take place around the world. Because I wear a hijab, people assume I can’t speak English, or that I am an immigrant who should “go back to my own country” regardless of the fact that I was born here and have been in every advanced, AP, and honors class offered to me in English and a number of other subjects in school. I am not solely defined by these things, and yet I am judged solely on them by society.
I’ve found, over time, that the best way to combat against prejudice is to gather knowledge. When you take the time to understand a culture or religion or person in particular, whatever prejudice you had seems to evaporate, leaving only the most genuine empathy.
This is what society should teach us.
Just a thought to leave you thinking.
